A Walks Through the Traces and Stories of the United Kingdom

The British have been present in Poznań long before the era of the British Film Festival. It’s time to discover more about our shared history!

A few weeks before the third edition of BFF (taking place from 10 to 15 November), we invite you to join us on guided walks exploring the surprising traces and connections of the United Kingdom in Poznań.

‍

Tickets are now available!

‍

On 17 and 25 October, we will follow a route starting at Kino Muza and ending at the Citadel, answering questions such as:

  • Who really cracked the Enigma code – the Poles or the British?
  • Why was Poznań’s gasworks built by an Englishman?
  • Did the British fight in the Greater Poland Uprising?
  • Where was Arkady Fiedler, author of the iconic Squadron 303, born?
  • Who was Edward Bernard Raczyński?
  • What do the heroes of the cult classic The Great Escape have to do with Poznań?

‍

The fascinating Polish-British stories and curiosities of Poznań will be brought to life by Aleksandra Nyka, a licensed Poznań city guide.

The walks will take place on Saturday, 17 October and Sunday, 25 October, at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

All walks will follow the same route and will be held in Polish.

Duration: 2 hours

Tickets: PLN 5, available at the Kino Muza box office and via bilety24.pl.
