POSTMAN PAT: THE MOVIE
POSTMAN PAT: THE MOVIE
Ticket sales start on 22 October at 2 PM.
Since the 1980s, Postman Pat has been one of the most recognisable characters in children’s television, not just in Britain but around the world.
Generations of viewers grew up with his red post van, his cat Jess and the winding roads of Greendale. From the start, Pat’s daily rounds and delivering post served as a pretext for the creators to tell stories about the neighbourhood and everyday kindness.
POSTMAN PAT: THE MOVIE takes the familiar postman well beyond his usual route. When Pat misses out on the work bonus he had hoped would pay for a dream trip with his wife, he unexpectedly enters a television singing competition. His success draws him into a world of cameras, performances and sudden fame. Back at the sorting office, major changes are taking place. A ruthless modernisation drive threatens to replace staff with machines, including malfunctioning robots that look uncannily like Pat himself.
The film moves at a much faster pace than the television series. Chases, robots, corporate scheming and the temptations of fame all come into play, while Pat is forced to remember what matters most to him. Even in this more action-packed version of his world, he remains a symbol of friendship, care and belonging.
